Our Open Forums bring residents, local partners and decision-makers together to talk honestly about what’s working, what isn’t, and what needs to change in the Jewellery Quarter. It’s a practical space to raise concerns, share ideas and help shape the priorities we take forward as a community.
At our last Open Forum, road safety was one of the biggest issues raised by residents. Since then, we’ve launched our Safer Roads workshops, bringing people together to map problem locations, understand what is causing them and develop practical ideas for making our streets safer. At this meeting, we’ll share an update on what we’ve heard so far and what happens next.
We’ll also return to the £20,000 community grant announced at our last Open Forum. This is residents’ money, and we want residents to help decide how it should be used.
We’ll be discussing the different options, including investing directly in community projects and activities, supporting existing groups and volunteers, and whether some of the funding should be used to create additional capacity to help the Forum deliver more, build partnerships and secure further funding.
Nothing has been decided yet. This meeting is an opportunity to hear the options, ask questions and help shape what we do next.
