The Jewellery Quarter Business Improvement District is funded by a levy paid by eligible local businesses. That money is used to deliver extra services and projects that support the Jewellery Quarter, above and beyond standard council provision.
One of its most visible services is the clean team, who help keep the area tidier, more welcoming and better cared for day to day. This practical work makes a real difference to the look and feel of the neighbourhood, supporting businesses, residents, workers and visitors alike.
The Jewellery Quarter BID also supports and delivers local events, festivals and promotional activity that bring people into the Quarter and celebrate what makes the area special. This includes major local moments such as the Christmas light switch-on, JQ Beer Weekend and the Jewellery Quarter Festival, helping to showcase the area’s independent businesses, hospitality venues, heritage, creativity and culture.
Partnership is also a major part of the BID’s role. The Jewellery Quarter BID leads partnership work across the area, working closely with the jewellery industry, local business groups, cultural organisations and the JQ Neighbourhood Forum. This helps bring different voices together around shared priorities for the Quarter.
Cleaner streets, safer public spaces, greening, events, promotion and local pride are all issues that matter across the whole neighbourhood. By investing business levy funding into practical improvements and collaborative projects, the Jewellery Quarter BID plays an important role in helping make the Jewellery Quarter a better place to live, work and visit.
