We’re looking for a Communications volunteer to help support Precious Gems Film Club, our volunteer-run, not-for-profit community cinema in the Jewellery Quarter.
This role supports our existing communications volunteer and helps us share what Precious Gems is all about with a wider audience. It includes writing copy and creating social media content, documenting our screenings through photo and video, posting to our WhatsApp group, and posting our screening listings on our web pages.
It’s a great role for someone creative, organised and interested in film, community and digital content. You do not need loads of experience, just a willingness to get involved, communicate clearly and help us keep people updated and engaged.
All volunteers attend as many monthly meetings, usually on Wednesdays, as they can and help out at monthly screenings regularly. All volunteers get to submit film suggestions to our selection list and join in the discussion about what films we should show next. We will share our knowledge gained so far with you when you join, so you won’t be in at the deep end.
As a thank you, Communications volunteers receive free tickets to screenings.
