We’re looking for a new Chair for the Green Fingers Group to help lead and coordinate one of the Jewellery Quarter’s most successful volunteer groups.
The Green Fingers Group has had an incredible year, helping unlock tens of thousands of pounds of investment into the area and building strong partnerships with organisations including the Jewellery Quarter BID and University College Birmingham. The group has also adopted both the canal and Jewellery Quarter Station, helping bring more care, colour and attention to important local spaces.
Now the group needs a new Chair to help guide its next phase. This role is about keeping things organised, supporting volunteers and helping the group continue to grow. It would suit someone who enjoys bringing people together, keeping projects moving and being part of something practical and positive in the local area.
The role is expected to take around one to two hours a week. That includes speaking with partners, making sure volunteers are registered, coordinating planting activities, and working with the group’s Treasurer, Secretary and gardener to plan what happens next.
The group has a small budget for planting, tools and equipment.
This is a volunteer role with full support from the JQ Neighbourhood Forum, making it a great opportunity for someone who wants to play a leading part in making the Jewellery Quarter greener, more welcoming and better cared for.
