At the last Neighbourhood Forum AGM, residents identified road safety as the biggest priority for 2026.
Across the Jewellery Quarter and surrounding streets, concern about road danger has grown sharply. Residents have raised repeated issues around high-speed driving, poor parking, unsafe crossings, cars using residential streets as cut-throughs, vehicles failing to stop at red lights, and a number of crashes and serious incidents. For many people, it is becoming harder to walk around the area safely and confidently.
This campaign has been created to push for change.
The Forum will work to build partnerships with the right people and organisations to take this issue forward. That means listening carefully to residents, gathering strong local evidence, and using that evidence to push for practical improvements.
But first, we need to hear directly from the people who live here.
We are asking residents to complete a short survey about road safety in the area.
We want to understand:
This will help shape the campaign and make sure it is rooted in real experiences from across the area.
