Residents invited to share fly-tipping experiences with BBC

Fly-tipping continues to be a growing concern across the Jewellery Quarter and surrounding areas, with residents regularly reporting dumped waste, missed collections, and the wider impact on our streets.

A BBC journalist is currently looking to speak with local people about their experiences as part of upcoming coverage linked to the local elections.

This is an opportunity to highlight what’s really happening on the ground — and ensure that the voices of residents are properly heard.

This issue has also been raised as part of wider resident concerns going into 2026, alongside priorities such as road safety and public space improvements.

What they’re looking for

The BBC is interested in:

  • First-hand experiences of fly-tipping in the area
  • Photos or videos of incidents you’ve seen
  • Residents willing to be interviewed (only if you’re comfortable)

How to take part

If you’d like to share your experience, you can contact the BBC directly:

yourvoice@bbc.co.uk

They’re working to a tight timeline, so it’s worth getting in touch soon if you’re interested.
