Green Fingers Gardening Group

A friendly volunteer group helping make the Jewellery Quarter greener, brighter and better cared for through planting, tidy-ups and hands-on local action.

About the group

The Green Fingers Group is for anyone who wants to get outdoors, meet people and help look after the Jewellery Quarter through planting and gardening. It’s a relaxed, hands-on group where local residents can come together, do something positive for the area and have a good time while they’re at it.

The group helps care for spaces around the neighbourhood, including the canal between Newhall Street and Parade, which it has adopted in partnership with Birmingham City University and the Canal & River Trust. It has also worked with the Jewellery Quarter BID to look after the plants at Jewellery Quarter Station, helping make the area feel greener and more welcoming.

Whether you already love gardening or just fancy getting involved in something positive, The Green Fingers Group is a great way to meet neighbours and make a visible difference locally. The group also has funding to support projects, with opportunities both to join in and to help shape what happens next.
